What documents do I need to renew my vehicle license?
To renew your motor vehicle licence disc, you need to take the following documents to your nearest NaTIS Office: certified copy of Namibian ID or copy of Traffic Registration Certificate or copy of valid Namibian Driving Licence Card. You’ll also need for any outstanding fines.
How long do I have to renew my vehicle license after it expires?
Vehicle licensing is due within 21 days from the date of expiry of the previous licence. Late renewals may incur penalty fees, so it’s important to renew on time to avoid additional costs.
Can someone else renew my vehicle license on my behalf?
Yes, you can authorize someone else to renew your vehicle license by providing them with a signed letter of authorization, along with copies of your ID and the required documents. The person acting on your behalf must also bring their own ID.
What happens if my driver’s license expires – do I need to retake the test?
If your driver’s license has been expired for less than 5 years, you can renew it without retaking tests. However, if it’s been expired for more than 5 years, you’ll need to start the process over, including taking the learner’s license test and driving test again.
